Medieval Manuscript Marginalia
Cavalry Rabbit
Themes & interpretation: Role Reversal, Martial Lagomorph, War Horn
The ultimate medieval role reversal. An armored blue hare sounds the war horn from astride his subjugated greyhound mount. In the margins of the Macclesfield Psalter, prey turns conqueror with zero remorse.
