Killer Rabbit

Armed rabbits and hares turn the usual relationship between hunter and prey upside down in medieval marginal art. The Smithfield Decretals contain a sequence in which rabbits capture, try and execute a hunter. Such images invite comic and satirical readings, but a specific reference to peasant revolt should not be assumed.
